The FCA is organizing a special night for the next production of the Singapore Repertory Theatre: 'The Guru of Chai'
The SRT is offering us a special 15% discount and the FCA will be subsidizing the ticket price further, so tickets will only cost $20 per head (instead of $43).
Each member can purchase two tickets at this subsidized rate and purchase additional tickets at the reduced rate of $37 (including the $3 sistic booking fee). Once purchase tickets are strictly non-refundable.
Gaurav Kripalani, SRT Executive Director and FCA member, has also generously offered to provide drinks from 7pm. The play will start at 8pm.
If you are interested in buying tickets please send payment to the secretariat BEFORE Jan 14 (either by cheque or by electronic transfer). Members who have paid the reduce rate but do not show up on the night will be charged the full amount.
For members who can't make it that evening, Gaurav has arranged a 10% discount for FCA members. You just need to show your membership card at any SISTIC outlet.
About the play:
THE GURU OF CHAI has just won Best New Play, Best Actor and Best Composer at the prestigious Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards in New Zealand!
A mix of Flight of the Concords and Slumdog Millionaire may seem an unlikely combination, but it describes THE GURU OF CHAI perfectly. Award-winning actor and writer Jacob Rajan magically brings to life a host of extraordinary characters in this intimate epic set against the vibrant chaos of modern India.
"Pure magic... must be seen by all lovers of theatre at its best" - Theatreview
"THE GURU OF CHAI has all the ingredients of marvellous theatre: first
rate acting and an imaginative production, an entertaining story that contains
eternal truths wrapped up in a cloak of comedy and pathos and presented
with a confidence and an appeal that makes an audience one. You would be
foolish to miss it." - The Dominion Post
THE GURU OF CHAI runs Jan 19th - 29th.
