As it reinvents itself once more, Singapore can claim to be Asia's leading global city - at least for now. But can the latest nation branding efforts emerge, once and for all, from the "wrapper" of old preconceptions of restrained creativity? What makes the Republic tick in shaping its image? What new challenges await, as this "City in a Garden" beats off relentless international competition for talent and investments?

Author (and foremer FCA member) Koh Buck Song will address these questions around his new book Brand Singapore, the first independent analysis and critique of Singapore's country brand, and his 17th book as author and editor. Koh has worked on Singapore's nation branding for over 20 years - including as brand consultant to the government in international marketing and enhancing quality of life, on many citizen committees including as Deputy Chairman, Censorship Review Committee 2009-2010, and Board member of the National Arts Council and Media Development Authority. A master's graduate in public administration from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, he has taught leadership as Adjunct Associate Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, and media policy at the Singapore Management University.
